AboutKnow what you're trying
A personal desktop with practical foundations.
BasyaOS 0.4.3 preserves the proven 0.4.1 BasyaNet system environment while adding wired and Wi-Fi networking, PipeWire audio controls, accurate battery and brightness controls, automatic USB mounting, broad photo, audio, and video playback, ZIP and 7z tools, native Basya and BEZip handling, and PowerShell 7.
HTML and runnable .basya applications open through BasyaNet. EXE and MSI applications run through Wine, report launch failures visibly, and install into a Programs area alongside built-in BasyaOS apps. Edge WebView2 is prepared for compatible Windows applications. Compatibility varies: software that depends on Windows kernel drivers, DRM, or unsupported APIs may not work.
Task Manager shows processes, CPU, memory, swap, storage, network activity, battery state, uptime, and available hardware temperatures. Start, shutdown, low-battery, and critical system surfaces remain above ordinary application windows.
The graphical installer can erase and replace an entire selected disk using ext4, Btrfs, or XFS. Existing disk formats do not need to be FAT32 first. Installation is destructive, so verify the selected disk and back up important files.
Included games are BasyaOS exclusives. Doomaze BasyaOS Edition uses the BasyaOS wallpaper as its maze texture with an error dialog and Windows logo as its pursuers. Doomaze Custom lets you choose all three images.

Start with a VM
Use an x86-64 VM with 4 GB of memory, a 24 GB disposable virtual disk, and Secure Boot off for this unsigned build. Mount the ISO as the virtual DVD.
Keep your existing OS and files safe. For a real computer, write the hybrid ISO to a dedicated USB drive. The installer erases the selected target disk, not just one partition.
