BasyaNet for ChromeOS
A single, signed native ChromeOS Android app. No Linux environment, source project, or manual build is needed.
Simple installation
- Download the BasyaNet APK above.
- Open it from the Chromebook's Downloads folder.
- Approve the installation, then launch BasyaNet from the app launcher.
This does not use Linux or a PWA. Some school, work, or managed Chromebooks block apps downloaded outside Google Play. On those devices, the administrator must allow outside Android apps, or BasyaNet must be installed from its future Google Play listing.
WebView tabs, address/search bar, back/forward/reload/home, bookmarks, history, downloads, pop-up tabs, and sharing.
Ctrl+L, Ctrl+T, Ctrl+W, Ctrl+R, Alt+Left, Alt+Right, resizable windows, and no touchscreen requirement.
Runs in a separate Android process and separate WebView data directory instead of simply hiding history.
The Privacy & Legal policy is bundled locally and can be opened from the BasyaNet menu even without visiting this website.
Ready to run
The download is the finished, release-signed BasyaNet app, not an Android Studio project. It uses the Chromebook Android subsystem and carries BasyaNet's name and icon in the launcher.
